With the release of my book The Wedding Chase likely happening next month, I’ve been thinking about ways to make the launch event feel a little more special. This is one of the things I’ve been trying out.
I’ve wanted to experiment with zines for some time now. A couple of years ago, I had also tried handwriting letters, and I still had a bunch of Inland letter cards left over from then. So I thought—why not combine the two? Make a zine out of an Inland letter card.
There’s a certain nostalgia to it. It’s already folded, like a zine is. And like a zine, it becomes something unique to hold in your hand.
I wanted to give something to the people who come for the book release ceremony. This could be it. The last side is left blank for them to write whatever they want. They can seal it up and drop it in any post box—no stamps needed—and it’ll be mailed to whoever they want to send it to. They can send it to themselves. They can send it to others.

It’s not just marketing material for the book. It’s also something for people to hold on to—as collectors, early supporters, something to remember the whole event by. At least, that’s the idea.
This isn’t the final print. It’s a work-in-progress copy. There are a lot of mistakes, overlapping lines, and other printing issues. I’m in the process of correcting them.
I just wanted to show you something I’m working on and thinking about. If you’d like to receive one of these Inland letters in your post, drop me your full postal address at [email protected]. I’ll send the first 10 to maybe 20 people a copy. India addresses only. It’s an “in-land” letter, after all.
